SMOKE was seen coming out of a vent in Poole town centre this morning.
One fire crew from Poole is currently in the High Street after they were called at 8.58am.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said there had not been a fire.
SSE is in attendance and has isolated the supply which is affecting 47 customers in High Street and Lagland Street.
Firefighters will remain on the scene while the work is carried out as a safety precaution.
An SSE spokesperson said there was a fault in a cable but the exact cause is unknown.
They apologised for the inconvenience and thanked people for their patience while the work was carried out.
