FROM the Australian outback to the world of retail - King of the Jungle Harry Redknapp officially opened a new charity shop in Westbourne.

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner lives in Sandbanks and is a patron of Poole-based charity Lewis-Manning Hospice.

He supported the organisation by cutting the ribbon at the charity's new store in Seamoor Road, alongside the hospice team and supporters.

Harry said: “The charity does so much good work for those living with life-limiting illnesses. Please help them by donating your quality and designer clothes and accessories to fill the shelves and visit the shop to support the hospice.”

Vanessa Howden-Smith from the fundraising team at Lewis-Manning, which supports patients and families in Poole, Bournemouth and the surrounding Dorset area who are facing a life-limiting illness, said: “It was an honour to have Harry Redknapp declare the shop officially open and we are also hoping that other celebrities and local residents will donate unwanted items and come shopping here too.

“If you’re having a de-clutter, or if you’ve got unwanted gifts, then everything helps to raise funds. You can bring your items to our new shop in Seamoor Road, Westbourne.”

Lewis-Manning Hospice has other shops based at Blandford, Ashley Cross and Wimborne and is also keen to hear from people who may have time to spare by supporting as a volunteer this year, or those who would like to create their own fundraising event for the hospice.
