POLICE have appealed for help to trace a man wanted for breaching a restraining order.

They have urged members of the public not to approach Gavin Collett but to call 999 if they see him.

Collett, 35, was made the subject of a restraining order for two years at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday September 3 after being convicted of harassment of a woman.

He is wanted by police following an incident on New Year's Eve.

Collett, from Poole, is described as white, of medium build, around six feet tall and with short brown hair.

Detective Constable Ben Swain, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have made a number of enquiries to try and locate Collett since he breached the order and those efforts are continuing.

"We have no information to suggest that Collett presents a direct risk to the public, however, I would ask that anyone who sees him does not approach him but contacts Dorset Police immediately on 999.”

If you see Gavin Collett you should dial 999 immediately. Anyone else with other information should call 101, quoting occurrence number 55180208275 or contact Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
