A BUSINESS which helps hospitals and care homes all over the world to avoid dangerous infections has seen exports double to £2million.

Poole-based DDC Dolphin is one of only three companies globally to specialise in medical pulp macerators for the safe removal of human waste.

The technology prevents health associated infections and saves lives.

DDC Dolphin will be exhibiting at Arab Health 2019, taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre later this month, after doubling exports in two years. Overseas sales represent 23 per cent of turnover.

A DDC Dolphin spokesperson said: “Arab Health is a key focal point for the global healthcare industry.

“It is a very important showcase event for us because it attracts a huge number of buyers and distributors from all our major export markets.”

DDC Dolphin – based at the Fulcrum Centre on Vantage Way, Poole – offers a range of medical sluice room equipment for the safe disposal of human waste.

Its hands-free technology offers a much safer way to dispose of the waste, safeguarding patients and clinicians from dangerous infections including superbugs.

A big export campaign has resulted in growth in India, Singapore and the rest of Asia, and the company says the Arab Health event is an opportunity to build on that success.

The company says Europe remains an important market despite uncertainties over Brexit, while South America offers breakthrough opportunities

Some counties have been upgrading from bedpan washers to medical pulp macerators, while others have gone straight from handwashing bedpans to using macerators.

DDC Dolphin says its Pulpmatic medical pulp macerators eliminate up to 99.999 per cent of healthcare associated infections.

Arab Health is the largest exhibition of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa. Its 4,150 exhibitors are expected to attract more than 84,500 visitors from at least 160 countries.
