SUPPORTERS came together to pay tribute to a lifelong AFC Bournemouth fan during yesterday's 2-0 Premier League win against West Ham United.

Jamie Bird, from Pokesdown, who had a brain tumour, passed away at the Macmillan Unit at Christchurch Hospital on Sunday.

The 31-year-old was admitted into hospital in October last year, but able to welcome his third child, Amelia, into the world, around four weeks ago.

Jamie's brother, Luke, 37, organised a minute's applause during the 31st minute of the match in his memory.

Supporters in all four stands, including the travelling West Ham fans, delivered a fitting moment to pay tribute to Jamie during the top-flight fixture.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe also joined in the applause from his technical area on the sideline.

This evening, a fundraising page to help cover the cost of Jamie's funeral and support his family reached its £1,000 target.
