PURBECK District Council has agreed to release another £116,000 towards the cost of establishing the new unitary Dorset Council.
Last month Dorset Council's Shadow Executive considered a report that highlighted a further £1,859,000 to be spent on the creation of the new council before April 1.
The Shadow Executive agreed the report, including the recommendation to ask predecessor councils to release further funding.
A report to Purbeck District Council, ahead of its full meeting at Westport House, Worgret Road, Wareham, on Tuesday (Jan 15) evening, stated: "Purbeck's share of the additional funds requested amounts to £116,000, calculated pro-rata to population."
Members agreed the allocation.
