Thousands of people are getting involved in Race for Life events again this year.

The events are run by Cancer Research UK and help the organisation raise funds for research into all 200 types of cancer.

People of all ages, abilities and backgrounds take part. There is an entrance fee, but this only covers the cost of putting on the events, so participants are encouraged to raise money as well.

There are lots of events taking place in or near Dorset this year – and there’s a distance for everyone.

The events are:

  • The seafront, Bournemouth, on Sunday, June 9 (5k and 10k distances)
  • Baiter Park, Poole on Saturday, June 15 (5k Pretty Muddy event, which is a muddy obstacle course)
  • Baiter Park, Poole on Sunday, June 16 (5k and 10k distances)
  • Yeovil College, Yeovil on Sunday, June 16 (5k distance)

* We have been unable to confirm whether a Dorchester event will take place at Kingston Maurward this year.
