HARRY Redknapp has revealed that he loves the boost to his fame that being crowned king of the celebrity jungle has given him - but his wife, Sandra, has said she finds their new stardom difficult to deal with.

Harry told ITV's Good Morning Britain today he is enjoying being the centre of attention when he goes out, and often has fans coming up to him, asking for selfies.

"I went shopping, I popped into Marks & Spencer, everyone I see ... every lady is coming up to me saying 'Harry, what you shopping for, a jam roly poly?' It's great," he said.

However, when asked about her husband's popularity, Sandra said: "I've found it quite hard, being in the limelight more, but I've been really proud of him."

Sandra, who has been married to Harry for 51 years, said she found it "strange" when he opened up about his feelings for her while in I'm A Celebrity, because "he's not really open like that, to the public".

Harry told jungle pals: "Even when I'm out I ring her 10 times a day. She's my life. I'm a bit scared, getting a bit older. I love her too much, if anything happened it would just kill me."

He likened being married to Sandra as like 'winning the lottery' and when she paid the jungle a surprise visit his delight in seeing her melted the nation's hearts.

Sandra said she had always known what Harry was like at home, but believes I'm A Celebrity allowed people to see more of him.

"I think, probably being a football manager, you have to sort of keep everything in, and you can't let people know what type of person you are, you've got to be strong," she said.

The couple, who live in Sandbanks, also revealed that Harry has never cooked for Sandra, despite being in a relationship for 54 years.

Harry said: "I can't cook.

"I can do a boiled egg."
