A TAXI caught fire in Pokesdown this morning.
The red United Taxis vehicle was on Christchurch Road, near the Coffee & Dice café, when the small fire broke out in its engine compartment.
A crew from Springbourne Fire Station was called to the scene at 10.38am.
Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to put out the fire.
Nobody is reported to have been injured.
The crew had the fire under control by 11am.
