A CAR was left teetering over the edge of one of the lakes at Poole Park.

Both front wheels of the white Kia could be seen hanging over the edge of the water on Saturday afternoon.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said the incident was reported to them at 2.41pm. The car did not enter the water and a handbrake failure is believed to have occurred.

It is not the first time a car has headed towards the water at Poole Park.

Last September, a car had to be removed from the park’s main lake after it apparently rolled into the water.

The car was spotted in the lake by a member of the parks team.

The next phase of a £3.5m project to improve Poole Park is due to start tomorrow. Contractors will dredge areas of the boating lake and freshwater lakes to make them deeper.
