A PEDESTRIAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving a car in Bournemouth.
The incident, involving the Bournemouth man - in his 50s - and a silver Ford Mondeo estate, took place at the roundabout on the junction of Redhill Drive and Whitelegg Way at 6.30pm on Thursday.
The injured man was taken to Poole Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver, also a man in his 50s from Bournemouth, was uninjured.
Dorset Police, paramedics and the air ambulance attended the scene.
Specially-trained collision investigators carried out a detailed examination of the scene.
The road remained closed until this investigation concluded.
Police Sergeant Craig Tatton, of the traffic unit, who has appealed for witness to contact Dorset Police, added: "I would like to thank motorists and local residents for their patience during the road closures.
"These were entirely necessary to allow the injured man to receive medical treatment and for officers to establish what happened."
