THE power of the business networking site LinkedIn will be harnessed in the offline world at an event this Friday, January 11.
The #LinkedinLocal gathering is described as a ‘social off-media’, not-for-profit, networking house party, running from 6-9pm at Luscombe, 1 The Drive in Brudenell Avenue, Sandbanks.
Ticket sales and funds raised at the even to Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, which offers grants to people facing financial challenges during treatment.
The hosts are Matthew Thomas, Matt Smith and Beverley Poole, and the house has been loaned by Tailor Made estate agents.
The first #LinkedInLocal-Bournemouth-and-Poole happened last September at the Sandbanks Hotel, with more than 70 people attending after promotion online and via word of mouth. The evening raised more than £700 for Dorset Cancer Care.
The #LinkedInLocal concept was started by in 2017 by Australian Anna McFee, who set up an event at a local coffee shop. Events are now held in 360 cities across the world and are run by the brand LocalX.
