A ‘BABY Shark’ toy with a very special message inside was found lying at the side of a main road.

Police are appealing for the owner of the toy to come forward after it was found at the side of the A35 Puddletown bypass on Sunday, December 30 by armed officers while they were out on patrol.

After recovering the toy they discovered it had a special recorded message inside - a wedding proposal.

Dorset Police posted a picture of the toy on social media with a witty message in reference to ‘Baby Shark’, a song about a family of sharks which went viral last year.

The post read: “Officers are appealing for Daddy Shark or Mummy Shark to come forward after Baby Shark was found on a Dorset roadside.

“The officers would like no-fin better than to return Baby Shark home. In the meantime he is hanging out at the station with his new friends.”

A video accompanying the catchy children’s song has been viewed more than two billion times on YouTube.

And it’s not the first time someone in Dorset has stumbled upon a wedding proposal.

In September 2017, Tracey Hollis-Rowe inadvertently caught a proposal on camera while snapping a picture of Durdle Door.

Tracey didn’t infringe on the tender moment and walked away, but later said she was desperate to find out whether the woman said ‘yes’.

The cliffhanger ending was revealed a few days later when Harry Rolph confirmed his girlfriend Eleni Kostantaki said ‘yes’ after he went down on one knee at the Jurassic Coast beauty spot.
