RESIDENTS will be able to dispose of their real Christmas trees a number of ways across Dorset and the New Forest.

Dorset disability charity Diverse Abilities will once again be collecting trees for just £5 from selected postcodes across Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset on January 5, 6 and 7. Money raised will go towards making a difference to children and adults living with disabilities.

To book your collection and check your postcode visit diverseabilities.org.uk/trees or call 01202 718266

Poole residents will be able to take their trees to Upton Country Park until January 6. They can also take real and plastic trees to be recycled at Nuffield Household Waste Recycling Centre.

People living in the Dorset area will be able to cut their tree down and put it in their garden waste bin to be collected.

Real trees can also be taken to household recycling centres and placed in the garden waste container for composting free of charge.

In the New Forest, people can take their trees to be recycled at a number of drop off points between January 2 and 13.

Drop-off points include The Furlong car park in Ringwood, Brookley Road car park in Brockenhurst, A338 slip road car park in Fordingbridge, St Thomas Street car park in Lymington, the village centre car park in Lyndhurst and Crossmead Avenue car park in New Milton.
