THE Sandbanks Ferry remains out of action until further notice after an hydraulic fluid leak on Friday afternoon.
No service took place over the weekend and it is not yet known when the crossing is likely to return.
A spokesperson for the ferry company said the issue is still being assessed.
"We will not have any updates until we have a full understanding of the issue," they said.
Fire engines were called to the Sandbanks side of the crossing shortly before 3.30pm on Friday after a leak generated steam which triggered the vessel's fire alarms.
All vehicles were able to safely disembark from the ferry before the fire service carried out their response. No injuries were sustained.
The ferry only returned from annual maintenance on Thursday.
