A DRUG driver who got back behind the wheel while banned from the roads has appeared before the courts.

Rory Bolton-Mayoh, of Elmgate Drive in Bournemouth, was caught driving a Mercedes in Knole Road, Boscombe on July 8 last year with 3.7 micrograms of THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, per litre of his blood.

The 25-year-old had a quantity of cannabis with him when he was arrested.

Days later, on July 13, he was caught again in Harrison Avenue with 6.1 micrograms of THC in his blood.

Magistrates at Poole banned him from driving for 30 months after he admitted two counts of drug driving and one of possession of cannabis.

However, on March 17 this year, he was caught driving while disqualified in Gunwharf Road, Portsmouth. He also had a knuckleduster and cannabis with him when he was arrested.

Bolton-Mayoh returned to Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, December 12 to be convicted for the offences. He also admitted failing without reasonable excuse to comply with the requirements of a community order.

The court heard he failed to report as directed for two induction appointments and two probation service appointments.

Magistrates revoked his original community order and remade it. Bolton-Mayoh will be tagged and subjected to a curfew for 12 weeks. He must also carry out 30 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
