A BOURNEMOUTH teacher has won the Secondary Dance Teacher of the Year award at the national One Dance UK Awards.
Geoff Lake from LeAF Academy won out over tough opposition from across the UK to lift the title in a ceremony at Leeds Beckett University.
The University's Great Hall was the venue for the event, which brought together talented professionals working in dance.
Awards were given in a total of 23 categories.
Earlier this year talented performers from LeAF swept aside tough competition to lift the coveted national title in the Rock Challenge competition.
Under the direction of Mr Lake and fellow teacher Billie Aplin, the 120-strong team was crowned overall champion and was also presented with a further 11 awards.
