A COURT hearing for two men accused of driving offences after a serious crash in Bournemouth was adjourned after problems finding a solicitor.

Ioan Scarlat and David Lee, who is also known as Steven Hopper, were due to appear before magistrates in Poole on Thursday. The men were ordered to appear at the court following a crash in West Way, Bournemouth on May 15.

Although Scarlat, 23, and Lee, 42, both arrived for the preliminary hearing, there weren't enough duty solicitors available to take the case.

The hearing has now been adjourned until January.

Police were called to West Way at 10.10am on the morning of the crash after a silver Citroen Saxo left the road and hit a tree.

A man in his 20s was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries. He has since been discharged.

After the crash, police released a CCTV image of a black Vauxhall Astra that was believed to have been travelling along West Way at the time of the crash.

Lee was later issued with a postal requisition for offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drug driving and failing to stop after an accident.

Scarlat was also issued for with a postal requisition for offences of dangerous driving, drug driving and possession of a class B drug.
