YOUNG bakers put their skills to the test to raise money to support the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.

Four Year 5 pupils at Talbot Heath in Bournemouth whisked up batches of Christmas tree cookies, festive cupcakes and brownies and sold them to their schoolmates.

The generous youngsters raised £140 for the charity's High Five campaign, which aims to provide support for families facing financial struggles because of cancer.

The Foundation was established five years ago and its latest campaign has a target of £250,000.

Co-founder Eve Went said: "This isn’t the first time children from Talbot Heath have supported us and we are so impressed by their kindness, support and also their baking skills.

"We will be inviting the children along to our Member’s Evening in February to receive a special thank you for their efforts and hope they will inspire other schools to raise funds for the High Five campaign in 2019."
