The Department for Education released the primary league tables yesterday.

In Dorset only 60 per cent of pupils managed to obtain the expected government standards in reading writing and maths.

Nationally, 64 per cent of pupils achieved the three core skills.

Here's how Dorset schools faired.

64 per cent of pupils at Chickerell Primary Academy achieved the expected standard in reading, writing and maths making the school bang on the national average.

As you can see from the graph, more than half of Dorset's schools fell below this target.

Here's how each school did:

The schools are also given 'progress scores' which show how much progress pupils made in reading, writing and maths between the end of key stage 1 and the end of key stage 2.

Zero represents the national average.

A score above zero means pupils made more progress, on average, than pupils across England a score below zero means pupils made less progress, on average, than pupils across the country.
