A SENIOR support worker from Bournemouth has won ‘The Putting People First Award’ at this year’s South West Great British Care Awards.

Sebastian Kolbadi, who works at the Magna Road Care Home, recently helped the people he supports redecorate their lounge and bedrooms with items chosen by them.

The award hosts noted Sebastian had "completely changed the home and was not afraid of the challenge."

They also said: "He motivated the team, gave them energy and completely changed the home with decorating throughout - revamping the garden, all with getting the residents involved."

Magna Road, which supports up to seven people with learning disabilities, is run by social care charity Community Integrated Care.

Community Integrated Care chief executive officer Mark Adams said: "It is fantastic to see the exceptional work of our staff being awarded on a national stage.

"We are all incredibly proud and we know how well deserved these incredible acknowledgements are for our dedicated colleagues.

"Well done Seb."

Sebastian now goes through to the national finals of the Great British Care Awards, set for March 2019.
