Years behind the lens: I used Film SLR’s years ago but after a 30 year gap my wife gave me a camera so that I could get out of the house for fresh air and exercise and take respite from my caring role for our daughter.

Current Camera: Nikon D3300 and Nikon Bridge Camera.

Dream camera: Nikon D850.

Piece of equipment you couldn’t be without: Tripod.

Favourite Dorset location: The River Stour from Blandford to Sturminster Newton.

Dream location: Scotland for rolling hills and snow topped mountains.

Worst photographic mishap: Going to take a picture and realising my memory card was at home still plugged into the computer.

Best photographic success: Getting my first picture of the week in the Bournemouth Echo and having my images used as weather pictures on the TV.

Top tip: Take the time to watch, look and see the landscape that you are photographing. Nature is good for the soul and has many healing qualities.

What you’ve gained/learnt from or liked about Echo Camera Club Dorset: I love the total inclusivity of the group from beginner to experienced and camera phone to top end equipment and that the results give such great diversity. There are always some new ideas and genres which encourage you to expand your personal portfolio.
