KINGS, angels, donkeys and, of course, Mary and Joseph, will make an appearance on the streets of Southbourne for the ever-popular Nativity Parade.
The event will set off from the bandstand at Fisherman's Walk at 10am on Saturday, December 15, making its way along Southbourne Grove to Southbourne Green.
Those accompanying the procession have the added fun of keeping an eye out to spot the 40 knitted Christmas trees distributed among the stores along the route.
The group will then gather on the green alongside the nativity scene where children will be able to pet a menagerie of animals including festive donkeys, llamas, sheep, goats, alpacas and poultry. Those taking part in the parade will finish the day’s festivities with a spot of carol singing and some refreshments to bring the event to a close.
The parade is among a host of events and attractions which Bournemouth Coastal BID is supporting, with the aim of making Bournemouth’s coastal villages even more appealing to visitors and shoppers in the run up to Christmas.
Coastal BID Chairman Paul Clarke said: “This is such a well-loved event in Southbourne’s calendar of Christmas events, and many local families join in the fun year after year. As always, we are so pleased to be able to get behind these community events, which reflect the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Southbourne, bring people together, and draw families back year after year.”
