Among the cases heard at Southampton Magistrates Court were:

TUDOR MARIUS CORNEA, 29, of Lodge Road Southampton. Pleaded guilty to driving a Skoda Superb on St Mary’s Road while disqualified from driving and without insurance. Ordered to carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work in the next 12 months. Ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85, costs of £85 and disqualified from driving for six months. Driving licence endorsed.

JOSEPH CHRISTOPHER BURNS, 46, of Rotterdam Towers, Weston, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to begging on 15 different days on Above Bar Street after being prohibited from doing so. Sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, victim surcharge £115. Also pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven days in prison concurrent for failing to comply with supervision requirements after being released from prison.

TOMMIE EDWARD COLLINS, 21, of Midlands Estate, West End. Pleaded guilty to driving a Seat Ibiza Sport on Hinkler Road, Thornhill, Southampton, under the influence of alcohol. Fined £350, victim surcharge £35, costs £85. Disqualified for 12 months – reduced by 91 days if defendant completes a speed awareness course.

PAULIUS STACKEVICIUS, 25, of Woodcote Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Six-month conditional discharge, victim surcharge £20.

JOHN LEPP, 54, of Botley Road, Curdridge. Pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit of 30mph on North Road, Winkfield. Fined £70, victim surcharge £30, driving licence endorsed with three points.

TIMOTHY WILMOTT, 48, of Marchwood Village Centre, New Forest. Pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit on A336 Southampton Road, Cadnam. Fined £70, victim surcharge £30, three points on licence.

Daniel Graham Bowden, 37, of Upper Bugle Street, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to stealing two Dyson hair dryers, to the value of £599.98p from John Lewis. Committed to prison for three months suspended for 12 months. Compensation £100. Victim surcharge £115. Costs £85.

Alan Joseph Laidler, 42, of Murray Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to damaging a car. Community order made. Compensation £750. Costs 385.

Kishore Chandulal Naker, 48, of Ashby Crescent, Totton. Pleaded guilty to refusing to provide a specimen of blood. Fined £207. Victim surcharge £30. Costs £300. Disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years.

Paul Stephen Collins, 28, of Ridding Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to breaching a community order. Original order varied. Curfew requirement for 28 days. Costs £60.

Lewis Stephen Davis, 26, of Brighstone Close, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to breaching a community order. Original order to continue. Fined £60. Costs £60.

Callum Mccarthy, 20, of Blackthorn Road, Southampton. Pleaded guilty to breaching a community order. Order varied including rehabilitation activity requirement. Costs £60.

Wayne Bambrough, 39, of Shelley Road, Totton. Committed to prison for 90 days in default of payment of a fine of £2,546.
