A MAN who allegedly raped an escort at a Bournemouth hotel ‘left a woman a voicemail admitting the assault’, a court heard yesterday.

Prosecutors claim Lee Hogben, of Windham Road in Boscombe, had been having consensual sex with the escort when he removed his protection despite her repeated objections.

The complainant, who does not live locally, advertises her services on an adult work website, it was heard on the first day of a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court yesterday.

She met Hogben, 35, at a town centre hotel on January 19 this year, it was said.

Jodie Mittell, prosecuting, said: “The prosecution’s case is that Mr Hogben went beyond what was consented to by removing the protection, which the complainant will say was a condition of intercourse.”

Hogben was with the complainant for more than two hours, but left without paying the agreed-upon price for her services, jurors heard. Prosecutors said the complainant specifically indicates that clients must use protection.

Initially, the encounter was consensual, but this changed when the defendant began engaging in unprotected intercourse, it was heard.

“She repeatedly protested, ‘I don’t do that - please, no’,” Ms Mittell said.

“She tried to wriggle away but he told her to stop.”

The complainant felt “vulnerable” and said she believed Hogben was a “fruit loop”, it was heard.

“He told her he had beaten people up and robbed people,” Ms Mittell said.

Hogben was arrested the following day.

Forensics tests taken from the complainant matched Hogben’s DNA to a probability of one in one billion, it was heard.

A voicemail allegedly made by Hogben to another woman on April 21 was played aloud to the court. In the recording, a man says: “I did rape her, alright. Are you happy now?”

The following day, a man left another voicemail in which he said: “I’ve been charged with rape. I’ve done it.

“I’m going to prison.”

Hogben denies rape and two counts of sexual assault by penetration.

The trial continues.
