PLANS to demolish a Poole bungalow to allow the construction of nine ‘starter homes’ are set to be considered by members of Poole council’s planning committee.

Councillors are being recommended to grant permission for Greenbee Homes’ Brixey Road outline scheme when they meet on Thursday.

Eight of the homes would be built on land behind the existing bungalow plot with the ninth built in place of the demolished building.

Several objections have been lodged by residents, raising concerns about the “crowded” proposals and “insufficient parking”.

However, council planning officer Claire Moir has recommended that planning permission be given for the scheme at Thursday’s meeting.

She said: “The proposed development would preserve the character and appearance of the area and streetscene and would maintain neighbouring privacy and amenities.

“Appropriate parking, access and visibility splays have been incorporated into the scheme which will ensure highway safety.”
