A WOMAN who died after a tree and electrical cables fell onto a car in high winds has been named.
Margaret Ann Cryer, who was known as Ann, was 75-years-old and from Shaftesbury.
The incident happened on the A30 at Compton Chamberlayne, near Salisbury, shortly after 9.30am on Thursday, November 29.
Police say it is believed a large tree fell into the road and onto the Ford Fiesta. Mrs Cryer was a passenger in the car.
The driver, a 74-year-old woman also from Shaftesbury, suffered serious injuries to her leg and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
