1. The 30th annual Save The Children Parade is being held in Wimborne on Saturday. The event, which is a highlight in the town’s Christmas calendar, attracts hundreds of people and sees dozens of colourful floats make their way through the town centre. The parade sets off at 2.15pm.

2. Runton Road residents will be switching on their Christmas lights once again for charity on Saturday evening. The annual spectacle has been wowing visitors for almost 50 years. This year Miss Poole will be doing the honours and there will be musical entertainment from Paul Walker and Susie Kimber. The fun starts at 5pm and visitors are asked to park away from the street in Branksome and walk to Runton Road in the interest of safety.

3. Hundreds of people dressed as Father Christmas will make their way through Lymington High Street on Sunday for Oakhaven Hospice’s annual Santa Dash. Participants will run, walk, skip or jump their way around the 3k course. Registration will start at 9am, with the race beginning at 11.30am.

4. The 10th annual Great Santa Fun Run takes place at Badbury Rings on Sunday at 10.45am. Organised by Wimborne Rotary, the event sees runners make their way along the point-to-point course.

5. Watch Father Christmas make his way down the chimney of The Red Lion Hotel in Wareham on Sunday. Santa will don his golden boots for the special occasion which kicks off with a colourful parade at 4pm. After the parade, he will appear on the roof of the hotel before greeting visitors in his Grotto at the rear of The Red Lion.

6. A Christmas market comes to Poole's RNLI College on Sunday between 11am and 4pm. There will be more than 40 exhibitors selling a range of Christmas gifts, handmade arts and crafts, jewellery, preserves and chutneys, live music and entertainment from Dr Balloon Man. Plus Father Christmas will be making an entrance by lifeboat. Entry and parking is free.

7. A brand new Light and Pyro show will take place at The Big Wheel at Bournemouth's Pier Approach tomorrow night as part of the Christmas Tree Wonderland extravaganza. It is one of six evening displays that will take place at The Big Wheel throughout December. The shows will take place at 5.30pm and 8.30pm and other events will take place on December 14, 15, 21, 22 and 28.

8. Westbourne's Victorian Christmas celebrations continue tomorrow with Victorian-style street theatre and walkabouts taking place between 2pm and 7pm.

9. Boscombe's Continental Christmas celebration continues on Saturday and Sunday between 9.30am and 4.30pm. People will be able to enjoy crafts and food delights from Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Hungary.

10. There will be Christmas films shown outdoors for free in Poole tomorrow night (December 6). Watch The Muppet Christmas Carol at 5.30pm and The Polar Express at 7.30pm on a big screen in the Sainsbury's plaza. There will be patio heaters and blankets to help keep film-goers cosy plus hot food and popcorn on sale from a Christmas-themed vintage van.

11. The Dorset Vegan Christmas Festival is being held at Lighthouse on Sunday between 10.30am and 4.30pm. There will be more than 80 stalls selling food and gifts plus cooking demonstrations, interactive workshops, yoga and more.
