1. Bournemouth Hospital Charity is holding a Christmas service at Christchurch Priory on December 12 at 7.30pm. The service will feature nine readings by hospital patients, consultants and chaplains, as well as prayers and carols for all to join in. A special musical accompaniment will be provided by the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir. Entry to the service is free but donations are welcome.

2. A candlelit Christmas concert comes to Wimborne Minister on Saturday at 7.30pm. The event by Wimborne Choral Society will be led by conductor Christopher Dowie and features the Avon Brass Quintet. Bob Chilcott’s Gloria and Nigel Edward’s Canite Tuba will also be sung by the choir. Tickets cost £5 for under 18s, £10 unreserved (side aisles) and £14 reserved (central nave).

3. Christmas carols will be coming to Corfe Castle for the first time on Sunday evening between 5pm and 6.30pm. Visitors are invited to step inside the ruins and join National Trust staff and volunteers in performing old and new songs. There will be a selection of winter refreshments available in the tea-room. Entry is free but usual admission fees apply.

4. St Luke’s Church in Winton will be holding a carol concert on December 15 at 6.30pm. There will be music performed by Bournemouth Bach Choir with a children’s choir from local primary schools. Tickets will be available on the door.

5. The Wessex Cancer Trust Christmas Concert takes place at St Peter's Church in Hinton Road, Bournemouth, on December 11. Rising Voices Wessex will be performing carols and songs. Entry costs £1.

6. Citygate Church in Bournemouth's Holdenhurst Road will be holding not just one but two carol concerts on December 16. A family-friendly service will take place at 4pm with an evening service open to all at 7.30pm. There will also be mince pies, mulled fruit punch and a live lounge band during the evening service. Entry is free.

7. Poole Hospital's Christmas carol concert will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wimborne Road on December 18 with special guests including Bishop Karen Gorham, Bishop of Sherborne, Rev. Declan McConville and the Barclay's House Choir. Entry is free and after the service there will be hot drinks and mince pies.

8. Bishop Aldhelm's Church in Branksome is having a parish carol service on December 23 at 6pm, featuring St Aldhelm's Orchestra.

9. St. Michael's Church in Verwood will be holding a candlelit Christmas carol service on December 16 between 6pm and 7pm.

10. A Carol Service with the Mayor of Christchurch takes place at Christchurch Priory on December 20 at 7.30pm. Admission is by free ticket only.

11. A concert of Christmas songs, readings and carols takes place at St Aldhelm’s Church in Branksome on December 21 at 7.45pm. It will feature Poole and Parkstone Singers, Players and Musical Theatre Society as well as community choirs InSpire Daytime Voices and Young & Youth Voices. The concert will be held amid the church’s Christmas tree festival featuring more than 60 decorated trees. Tickets cost £6 and are available on the door or in advance from 01202 764420.
