DURLSTON Country Park will host a festive-themed charity fun run called 'The Christmas Pudding Plod' later this month.

A 5km run for adults will be followed by a 2km run for children.

Fancy dress is encouraged and there will be Christmas music and a cake sale.

Money raised will be donated to The Durlston Pleasure Grounds Project and the Swanage Dementia Community group.

Project apprentice Izzi da Silva said: "If you need to burn off some calories before feasting this Christmas, then the Christmas Pudding Plod is a great chance for runners of all ages and abilities to enjoy Durlston's lovely countryside and support two important local causes."

The runs are scheduled for Durlston Country Park, near Swanage, on Sunday, December 16.

Adults start at 10am and the children's race gets underway at 10.30am.

Register at the park's learning centre from 9.15am.

Entry is £4 children, £6 adults.

Book through the website www.durlston.co.uk or on the day.
