A TAXI driver caught speeding won't be issued with points on her licence because a passenger caused her to fear for her safety, a court has heard.
Brenda Loveland, of Broadway Lane in Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court last Thursday, November 29 to admit speeding.
She had initially denied driving a Citroen in Herbert Avenue, Poole on July 14 at a speed exceeding the 30 mile per hour limit.
Magistrates decided not to give her points after hearing Loveland, 65, was 'fearful of her safety due to advances made by a passenger'. She was caught speeding at 38mph.
Instead, the defendant was sentenced to a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £20 surcharge and £85 costs.
