A CRIMINAL who attacks paramedics attempting to help him has been banned from Wimborne - again.

Darren Stuart Amor, 45, was made the subject of a criminal behaviour order last year. Under the terms of the order, he was told not to go to Poole or Weymouth.

On Monday, he appeared before magistrates yet again and was banned from a third Dorset town.

The defendant, who has a record of anti-social behaviour stretching back to 1999, has verbally and physically abused paramedics and hospital staff while in their care. He once flicked blood at a paramedic who tried to help him.

Most of the incidents take place in the street in Bournemouth, Weymouth and Blandford, as well as at Poole and Bournemouth hospitals.

In 2014, he was issued with an anti-social behaviour order covering Ferndown and Wimborne.

A further civil injunction order was granted in August 2015, relating to Amor’s behaviour in the Bournemouth area.

Since the start of 2015, Amor has come to the attention of the police more than 100 times.

In January 2017, Amor was issued with a community protection notice letter, which included conditions relating to begging and camping in Weymouth town centre.

The following month, he was served by a community protection notice. However, he has since been involved in a series of incidents in Blandford.

In July last year, he was made the subject of a criminal behaviour order, which was due to run until July 2022.

Under the order, Amor was ordered to comply with a series of conditions, including not to 'act or incite others to behave in an anti-social manner, that is to say a manner that causes harassment, alarm or distress to any persons within the commission area of Dorset'.

He is also banned from begging anywhere in Dorset.

But Amor has since appeared before the courts on several occasions for offences including breaching the order, drink-driving, assaulting a PC, criminal damage and failing to comply with the supervision requirements imposed following release from a period of imprisonment.

Magistrates have repeatedly commented on his "appalling" record and "flagrant disregard of court orders".

This week, the defendant, who lives in Coombe Road, Shillingstone, was jailed for eight weeks after admitting assaulting a person by beating them, damaging a police cell and breaching his criminal behaviour order.

The offences took place in East Borough, Wimborne and at Bournemouth police station on October 21.

Magistrates at Poole also varied his criminal behaviour order.

Under the order, which runs until November 25 2023, Amor must not:

  • Act or incite others to behave in an anti-social manner, that is to say a manner that causes harassment, alarm or distress to any persons within Dorset
  • Act or incite others to use threatening, intimidating, insulting or abusive words or behaviour in any place to which the public has access in Dorset
  • Place any hate, bowl, bucket or any other container or vessel in front of him or near him in such a manner as to attract passers-by to place money in it for the purposes of begging in Dorset
  • Enter Wimborne save for pre-arranged appointments with his GP

If Amor breaches the order he can be arrested and brought back before the courts.
