HUNDREDS of people turned out to see the lights illuminated in Britain's most festive street.
Twinkling lights and nativity scenes are now on display in Byron Road in New Milton.
And residents are expecting thousands more visitors to view the dazzling scene over Christmas and the New Year.
The tradition was started by resident Ged Hollyoake, 71, who now takes responsibility for decorating a row of five terraced houses in the street.
Over the years the event has got bigger and bigger and this weekend saw Father Christmas and an array of entertainers at the event.
The lights were switched on by Bournemouth poet Shaine Singer from Channel 4 show The Undateables, watched by crowds of all ages.
Goody bags were handed out to youngsters under the age of eight and there were free mince pies and mulled wine for the grown-ups.
Byron Road was named Britain’s most festive street by the Daily Mail last year.
