PEOPLE thinking about becoming foster carers are being encouraged to attend the next Foster for Poole recruitment event.

The fostering team is looking for carers for a variety of types of foster care, including supported lodgings, complex needs and

shared care.

Borough of Poole cabinet member for children and young people services, Cllr Mike White, said: "We are facing a continuous demand for children’s social care in Poole and are always in need of suitable people who are able to dedicate their time and support in caring for a child or young person.

"Our foster carers come from all sorts of backgrounds. Whether you’re single, in a same-sex partnership or you rent rather than own your own home, these are not usually barriers to becoming a foster carer.

"If you have time in your life and want to provide love and support to a child or young person then I would urge you to come along to our recruitment event to find out more information and to see if it would suit you."

The event takes place on Monday December 3, from 7pm until 8.30pm, in the Cattistock Room, Poole Civic Centre.

Enter through the members’ entrance which is opposite Poole Park and the row of shops.
