A MOTORIST who was suspected of driving under the influence has been banned from the roads.
Joseph Sargeant, of Haviland Road East, Boscombe, was stopped by police on October 18.
He was driving in Cleveland Road, Bournemouth without an appropriate licence, and officers quickly spotted problems with one of his vehicle's tyres.
He then failed to give a sample of his blood for testing.
On Wednesday, Sargeant, 49, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court to admit driving without insurance and a licence, possession of cannabis and failing to provide a specimen for analysis. He also admitted driving a vehicle when the treat pattern of the rear nearside tyre was not 1.6mm in depth.
The defendant was sentenced to a community order, under which he must complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days, fined £50 and ordered to pay costs and a surcharge. He was also banned from driving for 16 months.
