A DRUNK driver who was almost four-and-a-half times the limit has been banned from the roads for three years.
Leonids Pumpa, of Castle Lane West in Bournemouth, was arrested in on the afternoon of August 31.
He appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court last week to admit drink driving and driving without insurance.
Magistrates heard the 52-year-old, who drives a Ford Focus, had 157 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35mg.
Pumpa was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months and ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work within the next year.
The defendant, who must also pay a surcharge and costs, was disqualified for three years.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "Officers were called at 2.50pm on August 31 to reports of a possible drunk driver in the area of the Cooper Dean Roundabout.
"A 52-year-old local man was arrested in Castle Lane West on suspicion of drink driving and driving without valid insurance."
