THE shop worker targeted by violent robber Irimantas Vilkevicius says he has felt “on edge” since the attack in May.
Edward Boydell, 22, considered leaving his job following the terrifying incident, but is bravely staying in his role at Ashley Convenience Store.
“I have to work as I have a family to support but I certainly feel on edge,” he told the Daily Echo following Vilkevicius’ sentencing in court.
Commenting on the jail term of two years handed to Vilkevicius, Mr Boydell said he wished the court had handed him a longer sentence.
“It’s not fair. I felt like my life was being threatened,” he said.
“It’s the first time anything like this has happened to me working in the shop, and it was completely unprovoked.
“When he got violent and approached me behind the till I was taken aback.
“After he lobbed the bottle at my head I called the police. They arrived very swiftly.”
