THE road through Longham was closed for hours this morning due to a lorry crash.
The closure caused long delays throughout the area, with Parley, Bear Cross, Wallisdown Road, Hurn and the A338 all seeing longer delays than usual.
The A348 Ringwood Road was closed both ways between Ham Lane and Bear Cross roundabout as a result of the incident.
The crash involved a lorry colliding with the bridge and gettin stuck.
Police said they were called at 5.35am after reports the lorry had collided with the bridge.
There is damage to the crash barrier.
The local authority is at the scene and recovery has been requested for the lorry.
The vehicle was recovered at 11.49am. Bridge engineers were called to inspect the structure.
