A FORMER singer songwriter from Dorset has released a book for children.
Adrian Lee Noon, 52, who is currently based in Charlton Marshall, has previously written poetry and other books but not for children.
The book, entitled The Giraffe With No Neck, is about a family who visit a zoo, and while there, a youngster called Charlie befriends a giraffe.
Adrian said: “I decided to write this book, by accident, to be honest. I normally write poetry, and song lyrics, but this title jumped in my head.
“I didn’t know where to go with it, a song or a poem, but thought both wouldn’t suit, then decided it would make a great name for a children’s, book, so I put my thinking cap on, set about writing from just the title, I was in hospital last April, where I wrote most of it on my mobile phone.”
The book is available through Amazon and Adrian has already started work on a “gritty” novel called The Girl Who Wouldn’t Smile.
He is hoping to release a book of poetry next year.
Adrian also writes song lyrics for other bands including a song called Travelling Man for The Simmertones which was played on BBC Radio 2.
