A MUM found dead in bed after a fire at her home has been named as Christchurch barmaid Lorraine Mary Sheppard.
The 58-year-old’s body was found after neighbours became concerned for her welfare.
Emergency services were called to her bungalow in Irvine Way, Somerford, on the afternoon of Tuesday October 30, a Bournemouth inquest heard.
Assistant Dorset Coroner Brendan Allen was told the body of Miss Sheppard was found in her bed “with evidence of a fire having taken place in the bedroom.”
A post mortem examination revealed she died of asphyxia due to severe burns. Her body was formally identified by her daughter, Jolene Nicholls.
The coroner was told that Miss Sheppard was born in Barton-on-Sea on February 20 1960.
The inquest was adjourned until June 27 next year.
