AN ACTOR who grew up in Poole has gone on to find success on a children’s TV show which has been released on Netflix.

Diana Chrisman, who attended Talbot Heath School, used to train at the Big Little Theatre School and regularly performed at the Pavilion and Regent as well as the Bournemouth Festivals competitions for several years running.

Diana said: “I loved singing and acting, and like many kids, always dreamed about being on TV someday. I had auditions for a lot of kids’ TV shows in my early teens, and although I got close, I never quite landed the role.”

After sitting her GCSEs, Diana landed a place at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London before attending the Oxford School of Drama to study an intensive six-month foundation course.

She then worked in the West End and the Edinburgh Festival with new musicals before working on cruise ships.

Three years ago, Diana moved to Toronto in Canada to pursue commercials, TV and film roles.

For the past year, she has been a regular on children’s TV show, Ponysitters Club, in the role of Bianca.

The first series of the TV show, which is filmed in Canada, was released on Netflix to worldwide audiences on August 10 with the second series to follow on November 16.

The show is about a young horse enthusiast who teams up with her friends to rescue and rehabilitate animals on her family’s ranch.

Speaking of the show, Diana said: “The show itself is a lovely heart-warming show set on a horse rescue ranch, although all sorts of animals feature in the episodes, from ducks, geese and baby chicks, to goats, bunnies, and even the odd llama or gecko!”

She added: “The kids on the show are great, and I am constantly surprised by their professionalism on set and the crew are great too; like a big family away from home. “
