A MAN who failed to keep appointments with the probation service after he was sentenced for a string of crimes last year has been jailed.
Mark David James Whiting, of Sycamore Close in Bournemouth, was initially spared a prison sentence by magistrates in 2017 after he was convicted of handling stolen goods, three counts of theft, fraud by false representation, two counts of breaching a restraining order, possessing a knife in a public place, assault by beating, failing to surrender and two counts of criminal damage.
On November 1, he appeared back before magistrates at Poole to admit failing to comply with the community requirement of the suspended sentence order.
It was heard that Whiting, now 25, had failed to report for appointments twice, and had also not kept in touch with his responsible officer.
As a result, magistrates implemented the full term of his suspended sentence, and Whiting was jailed for a total of six months.
