RESIDENTS of a Poole cul-de-sac have announced when they will be switching on their famous Christmas lights.
Every year hundreds of people flock to see Runton Road’s Christmas illuminations in Branksome.
This year the residents will be switching on their lights at 5.30pm on Saturday, December 8.
The annual spectacle is one of the biggest displays in the country and first started more than 25 years ago as a friendly competition between neighbours.
It was even featured on BBC’s The One Show in 2015.
The popular event takes place to raise money for charity and last year thousands was raised for a little boy with Nephrotic Syndrome, Forest Holme Hospice, Amelia's Rainbow, Julia's House and the RNLI.
