TWO drug dealers who planned to flood Bournemouth with more than £110,000-worth of cocaine have been jailed.

Aaron David, 31, was found to have some £50,000 at his home in St Alban's Crescent, Bournemouth after his arrest, while his young associate Kristian Uku, 20, was caught with just under a kilo of cocaine strapped to his body.

The pair were arrested during a police sting on the evening of Monday, May 21. Uku had taken a taxi from London to Bournemouth. At around 6.25pm, the car stopped in Cecil Avenue.

At 6.40pm, David went to the same street, carrying a black rucksack.

Police approached the taxi, and David threw his bag into the road and made off. He was stopped after a short chase and arrested.

The rucksack was found to contain £20,000 in cash.

Uku, who is of no fixed abode, was also arrested nearby. During a search, officers found two compressed bundles of white powder strapped to his body. He also had one knife in his waistband and another in his pocket.

The white powder was analysed and found to be just shy of a kilogram of cocaine.

Police then searched David's home, finding £50,000 and 22 wraps of cocaine.

The total value of all the drugs seized is estimated to be £113,000.

Both men have now been sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court. The defendants admitted possessing a class A drug with intent to supply it, while David also admitted being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and a money laundering offence. He was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison.

Uku, who also pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing a knife in a public place, was sentenced two years and 10 months in a young offenders’ institution.

Detective Constable Will Pearce, of Dorset Police's serious organised crime investigation team, said: “Uku and David were clearly involved in an operation to supply a significant amount of class A drugs in the Bournemouth area.

“We are committed to doing all we can to disrupt the supply of class A drugs in our communities and this successful investigation has seen a large amount taken off the streets, as well two offenders given significant sentences.

“We always need information from residents in the area where drug dealing and drug related activity is taking place so we can take action against those involved in the supply chain and I would urge members of the public to contact police with any information.”
