ONE of Bournemouth’s favourite cafe businesses is offering a lucky competition winner two free coffees every week for a year.

Our contest marks the launch of fully compostable take-away cups at Real Eating Company.

The first, limited edition cups have been printed with a sketch of Bournemouth beach.

The independent cafe and kitchen Real Eating Company has been part of Bournemouth life since 2008, with two cafes in the town centre.

The I Love Bournemouth takeaway cups are part of the continued introduction across the business of cups where the packaging naturally breaks down to nothing, reducing the amount of plastic that ends up in landfill.

To celebrate the launch of the new I Love Bournemouth compostable cups, the Real Eating Company have a year’s worth of their delicious own blend freshly roasted coffee to give away – up to two cups a week for the winner.

Helena Hudson, the founder of the Real Eating Company, said: “Bournemouth is a fantastic place to have a business and we wanted to take our own step to reinforce to our customers and the wider community what a great place it is, despite some high-profile retailers moving out over recent months.

“We felt so strongly about our enduring love affair with Bournemouth, we wanted to declare our love on a cup! We are an independent business, committed to local and independent sourcing as well as a sustainable way of working and hope that our customers will welcome our local, environmentally-friendly Bournemouth cup.”

The Real Eating Company coffee is roasted to order every week by a small independent coffee roastery on the South Coast using 100 per cent Arabica beans and blended to the Real Eating Company’s specification.

From Monday to Friday, any take-away coffee before 12noon is just £2 as part of the ongoing Early Bird promotion aimed at local workers.

Founded by Helena Hudson in January 2004, the Real Eating Company specialises in coffee and tea drinking as well as unfussy, informal all-day eating – either to have in or to grab and go – serving no nonsense, modestly priced, seasonal British food using local produce whenever possible. It is located in Salisbury, Bournemouth, Chichester, Portsmouth Gunwharf Quays and Horsham.

The Real Eating Company can be found at Yelverton Road, just off Old Christchurch Road, and at Steamer Trading opposite the Lower Gardens on the first floor.
