TWO people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the Avon Causeway.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene of the collision around 3.20pm.
The car ended up on its side in a ditch. One woman was believed to be trapped, but a man was able to get out of the vehicle.
Both were taken to Poole General Hospital as a precaution.
The road was closed between Matchams Lane and the bridge over the A338.
The vehicle, a blue Peugeot 2008, was recovered from the scene.
The road was reopened around 4.30pm.
There were long queues on Stony Lane and through Christchurch as a result of the closure.
