EMERGENCY crews attended an incident in Bournemouth last night where a man was reportedly "throwing items" off a roof.

The incident occurred at a block of flats in Madeira Road at around 7pm on Wednesday.

Police attended along with an ambulance and the fire service's aerial ladder platform.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of a male throwing items off a roof.

"A cordon was put in place and a negotiator was called out.

"The negotiator was successful in getting the man down.

"He is now helping officers with their enquiries."

The road was cleared by 7.40pm.
