TWO councillors have taken on roles on Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Shadow Authority committees four months after walking out of the inaugural meeting.
Leader of Christchurch Borough Council David Flagg, who led the walk-out in June, has been elected to the senior appointments committee, while Cllr Fred Neale was voted into a role on the shadow overview and scrutiny committee.
Christchurch councillor Paul Hilliard was also put forward for a second vacancy on the scrutiny board, but he was pipped to the position by Bournemouth member Stephen Bartlett.
David Brown, leader of Poole Liberal Democrats, spoke in support of Cllr Flagg’s nomination before a vote was carried out, highlighting the committee membership was without a Christchurch representative.
He said: “With all due respect to Cllr Bartlett, from my experience of Cllr Flagg on the joint committee I would like to see a Christchurch member represented on that senior appointments committee.”
