BRAVE fund raisers walked barefoot across burning coals and razor-sharp broken glass to raise money to help people affected by life-limiting illnesses.
The Fire and Ice Walk was held as part of Hospice Care Week and raised hundreds of pounds for the Forest Holem Hospice in Poole.
Paul Tucker, fundraising manager at Forest Holme, who also participated in the walk, said: "The Fire and Ice Walk was a fantastic evening, where people got to test out their bravery and push themselves to achieve something they never thought possible.
"There was such a good atmosphere afterwards as participants felt euphoric having achieved a huge personal accomplishment, while also supporting Forest Holme."
Forest Holme Hospice Charity supports Forest Holme, part of the Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and is reliant on the support of the community to fund specialist care for patients living with advanced cancer and other life-limiting illnesses across Poole, Wimborne and The Purbecks.
The charity needs to raise at least £850,000 every year to help enhance the NHS provision at the hospice.
