THE Priest's House Museum and Garden in Wimborne is organising a day of events to commemorate the end of the First World War.

The events on November 10 will centre on East Dorset's War and will include talks and presentations to explore the area's role in the First World War.

Speakers will include Professor Karen Hunt, Professor Emerita of Modern British History at Keele University, and Martin Barry BSc (Hons), MA, Conflict Anthropologist and PhD student from the University of Bristol.

It will be held at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimborne from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

In the evening there will be a performance of ‘The Gathering - Messages from the Great War’ at The Minster in Wimborne, along with a screening of the short film, ‘Tommy’s Sisters’, about life on the home front in East Dorset during 1916.

The performance will start at 7.30pm.
